Look at anyone's cell phone while on the subway or on the street. I know it may sound kind of embarrassing, but do this exercise half a dozen times. You will repair a pattern: most people will be in messaging applications. WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Snapchat chat, Instagram Direct Messages, it does not matter: They will be communicating by some chat tool.

Enjoy and look at your cell phone too. Which apps do you use the most? Certainly some chat tools are on this list.

To make sure that chat tools are the ones most people use, just take a look at the list of the most downloaded apps in US in 2018:

  1. WhatsApp
  2. Facebook Messenger
  3. Facebook
  4. Snapchat
  5. Instagram
  6. YouTube
  7. Uber
  8. Spotify
  9. Telegram
  10. Google Maps

Half the applications on this list have chat or are exclusive chat tools (WhatsApp, Messenger, Snapchat, Instagram and Telegram).

But you may be thinking, "Ah, but that's what people use to talk to each other. This has nothing to do with business! "

In it, I mean a very simple thing: the disclosure of your business has to be where people's attention is. It used to be on the radio, then on television and now on social networks and chats.

If they spend more time in chats, that's the communication format of the moment! It is up to you, as an entrepreneur, to find a way to use this "hype" in favor of your business.

But ok, if my argument was not valid for you, try taking a look in the study that Facebook did in 2016, in which it shows that 53% of users said they are more likely to buy from an online store with which they have a chat to talk.

Companies like Disney, Taco Bell or PayPal have already introduced chatbots on their websites.

According to the Facebook study, users use chats to do very specific things. 39% admitted to use to ask for information; 33% to ask for schedules or stock; 34% to confirm any information; 33% to buy; 30% to give feedback and 30% to share product pictures.

57% also said they "exchange more messages today than 2 years ago" and 56% said they expect the number of messages to "increase over the next two years."

What does this mean for you? Simple: If your site does not have a chat, you're probably not interacting with more than half the customers.

At JivoChat, for example, we are already anticipating that. We know how important it is for the current entrepreneur to have all their messaging channels integrated and so with the JivoChat app you can already answer the questions that arise through your Fan Page, Telegram or Viber.

That is: it can have multiple channels, but you respond to everything inside the JivoChat.

It has never been easier to communicate with your customers. They're there, using chats all the time. You just need to be where they are.
